About the event:MAKO Boats is excited to announce the 2015 Fishing Funament Series, presented by Bass Pro Shops and hosted by George Poveromo, of TV's "George Poveromo's World of Saltwater Fishing." As the name suggests, these fun tournaments are designed to get family and friends together for a few days of fishing, camaraderie, and of course, more fishing!
This year's Fishing Funaments will take place at Dania Beach, Port St. Lucie, Islamorada and Fort Myers Beach, Florida. All locations offer great inshore and offshore fishing opportunities. There's something for everyone!
Not only are these events designed to be fun, but they also provide an opportunity to teach younger generations the value of fisheries conservation. If you aren't eating it for dinner, then protect the species by releasing it unharmed.
What to expect:Spend each day out on the water reeling in the fish! While not a hardcore fishing tournament, the Funaments are release-oriented events that are casual and relaxed. We'll provide special scorecards for keeping track of your catch, and everything is on the honor system. Keep careful records, as you could win. Photos and videos of your catch are encouraged. We'd love to document the fun!
Win awards and the ultimate bragging rights for yor catch! You'll return home with wonderful memories of time spent on the water with friends and family, and, should your catch measure up, an award to back up the tale!
Get fishing tips from pros, including our host, George Poveromo. Learn about lures, electronics and more. Having trouble deciding where to fish? These guys are happy to share some of their favorite spots.
